Black Ops/Mr. Divine
by Debra Ferrell
And there he stood; oh those eyes! They were brilliantly green and sparkled with such excitement. Ah yes, and those eyes seemed to be locked on me. He was a picture of perfection in my sight as he strutted my way. His physique was strong, handsome and exuberated such confidence as he moved slowly towards me. His spirit was savage and I liked this. I asked myself, “Could this be the companion that I have been searching for to fill the void in my life?” Someone to share happy times, sad times? Could I love again?
As he drew nearer to me, we seemed to lock eyes, equally to some sort of spiritual connection. It was if he had been searching for me and I had been searching for him; as if we were meant to be together for some reason or another. Perhaps a divine connection.
So, as he drew closer and closer to me, I asked myself, “Should I invite him in?” My spirit quickly replied, “Yes, and ask him his name.” With this rapid response, I waved him on over. When he approached me, he quickly jumped up on my lap with no hesitation. He was full of affection towards me. I was over-joyed. When I asked him his name, he just kept responding with a sweet meow over and over. His affection was overwhelming and I knew at this moment he was mine and I was his. His fur was strikingly black and my new cat was filled with joy. I instantly knew that we were going to have a great journey together. Yes, he was my Mr. Divine.
As the days went on, my Mr. Divine and I got to know each other pretty well. He studied my personality as I did his. He purred and purred as a sign to let me know his love and contentment towards me. At that particular moment in time I knew that the loneliness that I had endured for so many years had ended. He fulfilled me and brought so much happiness and satisfaction into my life. I presume I did the same for him as well. I was grateful that we had found each other. I just knew that we would be there until the end.
As the months progressed, Mr. Divine and I would just sit in the woods and enjoy nature together. We watched the squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits and deer come up to our land day-by-day. My little hunter still had the “kill instinct” to trap mice, however, he just sat with me and enjoyed his new-found treats in lieu of the pursuit. He knew that he no longer had to struggle and had found life that was meant to be.
I am so thankful for the things God brings into our lives. Mr. Divine rewarded me with such joy. We all need to find the treasures in our life and my life changed that day when we found each other.
